To pick your Google Voice number, tap Search. You can search by city or area code. If numbers aren’t available, try a nearby city or area code. Next to the number you want, tap Select. You can disconnect your number if: You’re not a Google Voice user, but have been scammed to give your verification code. You don’t want calls forwarded to you from Google Voice.

To use voice typing or voice commands, your computer microphone needs to be on and working. Devices and microphones vary, so check your computer manual for instructions. Typically, microphone settings are in the System Settings on a Mac, or the Control Panel on a PC.

Google may also temporarily process a model of your voice from your audio saved on Google servers to develop and improve Google's voice technologies if you: Turn on Voice Match and choose to save your voice and audio activity from interactions with Search, Assistant, and Maps in your Web & App Activity in your Google Account.
