Flagstaff is magical, but it can be very busy. Here’s some other options that are stunning, even in the later weeks of fall. Chiricahua wilderness - this is located near Portal, AZ. Which is 4-4.5 hours from Phoenix. The areas south of Tucson is full of amazing mountains and tons of hiking trail
