Scottish Lilt HIghland dancing competition during 2024 Tomintoul Highland Games

Dancers competing in the Seann Triubhas or Shawn Trews, Scottish Highland dance heats, held during the 2023 Aboyne Highland Games. These are held on the first Saturday of August in the village of Aboyne, which will be Saturday 3rd August 2024. Seann Triubhas is a dance of celebration developed in response to the repealing by the English of the Act of Proscription in 1747, which restored to the Scots the right to wear kilts and play the bagpipes once more.
