“Lord, enthroned in heav’nly splendor” (Hymn #307, BRYN CALFARIA) This tune was first paired to the text Gwaed y Groes (“The blood of the Cross”). Its name is Welsh for “Hill of Calvary.” The composer, William Owen (1813–1893), is said to have thought up the tune on his way to work in Dorthea Quarry, Dyffryn Nantelle.
